Get help

Technical support for subscribers is provided under our Terms of Service (§4.2); the support hours included with each plan are listed on our Pricing page.

When you write in, include the AI host you use (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Grok, Cursor, or another), when the problem happened (with time zone), what you asked the agent to do, and any error code it showed (for example AUTH_REQUIRED or VIEWER_NOT_CONNECTED). Never send your full ezt_ API key. The first few characters are enough for us to find it.

Connect EasyTerritory MCP to your AI host

Every host uses the same server:

Setting Value
Server URL https://mcp.easyterritory.ai/ (root path only, with no /mcp suffix)
Transport Streamable HTTP
Authentication OAuth (sign in and paste your ezt_ key on the EasyTerritory consent page), or an Authorization: Bearer ezt_… header for hosts that can store one
OAuth client ID and secret Leave blank. The host registers itself automatically.

Sign-in flow (all OAuth hosts): add the connector and choose Connect. The EasyTerritory consent page opens. Paste the ezt_ key EasyTerritory issued to you and choose Connect, and you return to your AI host. Paste the key only on the consent page, never into a chat message.

AI hosts update their menus often, so the names below may differ slightly in your version.

Claude (claude.ai, Claude Desktop, Claude Cowork)

  1. Open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. In Cowork, choose + → Connectors → Add connector → Add custom connector.
  2. Name: EasyTerritory. URL: https://mcp.easyterritory.ai/. Leave the OAuth client ID and secret blank.
  3. Choose Connect, paste your ezt_ key on the consent page, and choose Connect.
  4. In a chat, enable the EasyTerritory connector and try: “Open a new EasyTerritory map of Texas.”

On Claude Team or Enterprise, an Owner may need to add the connector for the organization first.

Claude Desktop with a header instead of OAuth: add a streamable-http entry with "url": "https://mcp.easyterritory.ai/" and "headers": {"Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"} to claude_desktop_config.json, then fully quit and relaunch Claude Desktop. See Connecting Your AI Agent.

ChatGPT

  1. Turn on developer mode: Settings → Apps → Advanced settings → Developer mode. On Business and Enterprise plans, a workspace admin must allow developer mode and custom MCP connectors first.
  2. Go to Settings → Apps → Create.
  3. Name: EasyTerritory. MCP server URL: https://mcp.easyterritory.ai/. Authentication: OAuth.
  4. Choose Scan Tools (or Connect). When the EasyTerritory consent page opens, paste your ezt_ key and choose Connect.
  5. Choose Create, then enable the app in a new chat.

Cursor

OAuth (recommended): add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (all projects) or .cursor/mcp.json (one project):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "easyterritory": { "url": "https://mcp.easyterritory.ai/" }
  }
}

Open Cursor Settings → Tools & MCP, choose Connect next to easyterritory, and paste your key on the consent page.

Header instead: set an environment variable named EZT_MCP_API_KEY and use:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "easyterritory": {
      "url": "https://mcp.easyterritory.ai/",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer ${env:EZT_MCP_API_KEY}" }
    }
  }
}

Don’t commit a literal key to a project’s .cursor/mcp.json.

Microsoft Copilot

  • Copilot Studio (building an agent): open your agent and go to Tools → Add a tool → New tool → Model Context Protocol. Server URL: https://mcp.easyterritory.ai/. Authentication: OAuth 2.0 with dynamic discovery, or API key sent as an Authorization header with the value Bearer ezt_….
  • Microsoft Foundry: go to Build → Tools and add a custom MCP tool with the same URL.
  • Microsoft 365 Copilot: contact [email protected] about deploying EasyTerritory for your organization.

Grok

  1. Go to grok.com → Connectors → New Connector → Custom.
  2. URL: https://mcp.easyterritory.ai/. Choose Connect and paste your ezt_ key on the consent page.

On Grok Business and Enterprise, a team admin adds the connector in the console before members can connect.

Any other MCP host

Use Streamable HTTP, the URL https://mcp.easyterritory.ai/, and either OAuth or the header Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY. To check the connection, ask the agent: “Call get_guidance and tell me what it returns.” A working connection returns a short guidance_handle.

Revoke access

Goal How
Disconnect one AI host Remove or disconnect the EasyTerritory connector in that host’s settings. The host’s tokens are revoked.
Stop every connection that uses a key Ask your EasyTerritory administrator, or email support, to revoke the ezt_ key. Every OAuth token issued from that key stops working at its next use.
A key was exposed (pasted in a chat or committed to git) Email support right away to revoke it and get a new one. Then reconnect each host with the new key.
Stop sharing a map Map links work only while the map session is active (it expires about an hour after it was last used). To end it sooner, ask the agent to start a new blank project.

Access tokens last 1 hour and are refreshed automatically. If you don’t use a host for more than 30 days, its refresh token expires and you’ll be asked to connect again.

Documentation

FAQ

How do I get an ezt_ key?
EasyTerritory issues one key per seat. Request a free trial, or ask your EasyTerritory administrator. The consent page on mcp.easyterritory.ai also links to the trial form.

What does the free trial include?
A trial key works for 14 days and includes up to 200 geocodes, 20 routes, and 20 drive-time (isochrone) calculations. After 14 days the key stops working automatically.

What does it cost after the trial?
See pricing, or email [email protected].

The connector says “Authentication failed”, or I get 401 or AUTH_REQUIRED.
The key is missing, mistyped, expired, or revoked. Reconnect and paste the key again on the consent page. For header setups, check that the value is exactly Bearer ezt_… with one space. If it still fails, contact support.

I get 404, or the connection times out.
Use exactly https://mcp.easyterritory.ai/. Don’t add /mcp or any other path.

The map isn’t updating.
Open the map link the agent gives you in a browser tab. The agent waits for that tab to connect before it builds.

My map link stopped working.
A map session expires about an hour after it was last used. Ask the agent to open the map again. To keep your work, ask it to “export the territory solution as GeoJSON.”

ZIP outlines are missing.
Zoom in. ZIP boundaries aren’t drawn at a national view.

Does EasyTerritory store my data?
The MCP Server isn’t a system of record. Data your agent sends is held in short-lived working storage for the operation and your map session (about an hour), then deleted. Usage, audit, and operational logs record metadata such as which tool ran and when, not your account rows, and are kept for 1 year. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Does EasyTerritory see my whole chat?
No. EasyTerritory receives only what your AI host sends in each tool call. Your conversation is handled under the AI host’s own privacy policy.

Which tools are available?
Tools for building, balancing, realigning, splitting, merging, and analyzing territories, plus geocoding, routing, drive-time areas, visit scheduling, and GeoJSON import and export. See the Tools Reference. Administrator tools are never available through an OAuth connection.

Can I use it without the map (headless)?
Yes. Every tool works without a visual map, for batch jobs and integrations. Ask the agent to work headless.

Does the agent need my approval before changing territories?
Tools that change or delete territories are marked as write or destructive, so hosts such as Claude and ChatGPT may ask you to approve them. Read-only tools (guidance, queries, and analysis lookups) don’t change anything.

Can I open my results in Territory Designer?
Yes. Export the Territory Solution as GeoJSON and open it in Territory Designer. A Designer project can come back through GeoJSON import.
